The Hosted PBX features our customers can’t get enough of

Feb. 08, 2021 By Tony Dunphy

The features every business needs from their VoIP Service provider

When choosing a VoIP Service Provider, it's important they can provide you with all the features you need without additional cost.

The Commschoice Cloud Phone or Hosted PBX, brings your company a lot of features without the expensive hardware and maintenance costs of an onsite PBX. Call forward, softphones, hunt groups and auto attendants are four features of Hosted PBX that our customers say are a reason to move to a Hosted PBX today. They’ll also deliver excellent results for your business and help your SME business look big – but what features on your Cloud Phone should you expect from your VoIP Service provider?

Included handsets on your VoIP Service

Don’t outlay a small fortune buying hardware when you can get it included in the price of your Cloud Phone System. CommsChoice includes handsets on both PAYG and unlimited call plans.

Call Twinning

Call twinning is an alternative to Voicemail. It enables a call to ring on both the desk phone and the user’s mobile phone simultaneously, ensuring the user never misses a call.

Call Forwarding

Call forwarding is the telephony feature that takes incoming calls and sends them to a different destination. So, when you’re not in the office and no one is available to pick up calls that reach your extension, you can still answer them on your mobile phone, home phone or whatever number you want, even overseas. Call forwarding will ensure the company never misses any call and users can take calls on their preferred device. With call forwarding every worker gets an extension, even if they never come into the office.

Softphone

A softphone is app that allows you to make and receive phone calls on a laptop, PC, Tablet or mobile phone. It’s also known as “software client telephone” and it only requires the device to be connected to the internet. With softphone, users can pick up their calls through the Internet on their connected laptop, tablet or mobile phone, or from any seat in any location with Internet coverage. With softphone, you also get the flexibility to use data instead of calling minutes with your mobile network provider.

Hunt Groups

A hunt group is a feature on a telephone system that groups users together. These grouped users can then be dialled simultaneously, sequentially or in any order you wish. Hunt groups are most commonly used to get a caller to a department within a business. For example, a sales hunt group would ring all of the sales team. Hunt groups can be configured any way you’d like. They’re very versatile and highly flexible. You can have any number of people in each hunt group, and it will seamlessly deal with the calls for you.

The most common place you’ll find a hunt group is attached to an auto attendant.

Auto Attendant

One of the most popular features in cloud telephony is the auto attendant. Also known as Interactive Voice Response (IVR) or Auto Receptionist, the auto attendant is the VoIP functionality that welcomes callers and directs them through a voice menu.

An auto attendant allows you to run your company on a single number, where every employee has an assigned extension. Featuring speech recognition, auto attendants can understand what a caller says and complete simple transactions over the phone.

High call volumes are not an issue with auto attendants as the system can handle multiple calls at the same time, without callers knowing anyone else is on the line. No call will ever be missed, and they are always on 24/7 – anyone that needs information pre-recorded in the system can get it straight away, even if the office is closed.

Cloud Phone or Hosted PBX comes with all the features you would expect from a sophisticated onsite PBX and will future proof your company for resilience. It can easily keep up with the needs of a remote workforce e.g. when COVID-19 hit, those companies that were already using hosted PBX could pivot to working from home almost instantly. That’s the power of a hosted PBX system — all you need is a broadband Internet service. Hosted PBX solutions provide uptime and reliability to withstand natural disasters. And when you bring everyone back to the office, unified communications works well there, too.

A Cloud Phone or Hosted PBX lets you focus on serving your customers, not trying to figure out your phone system. You can leave the rest to us. If you’re looking for an Australian VoIP Service Provider, talk to a CommsChoice specialist now on 1300 42 66 67.
